(ĐN)- In the morning of April 18, the Dong Nai Department of Labour, War Invalid and Social Affairs held a meeting with individuals and organizations who have made donations to Social Protection Centers in the province on the occasion of Vietnam Day for People with Disabilities (April 18). Also present at the ceremony were Huynh Thi Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Vice President of the Provincial Fatherland Front.
It was reported at the meeting that Dong Nai has over 650 orphaned children, 1,580 lonely old people and over 20,000 people with disabilities. In the 2001-2007 period, Social Protection Centers in Dong Nai have received over 300 people who are the beneficiaries of social protection. An impressive figure of over VND4.9 billion has been contributed by businesses, organizations and individuals to help support Social Protection Centers in the province in the reviewed period.
Vice Chairwoman Huynh Thi Nga took this opportunity to extend a special thank you to all donors inside and outside the province. Nga said that the kind contributions and donations from businesses, organizations and individuals help the handicapped, orphans and helpless aged people enjoy better care.
