(ĐN)- The Dong Nai province Committee for Solidarity Among Catholics recently held a meeting to review its work in 2006 and discuss tasks for 2007.
In 2006, the Dong Nai province Committee for Solidarity Among Catholics and the Xuan Loc District Diocese bishop’s office encouraged active participation of their followers in charity work with total donations of nearly VND 38.5 billion. Some of the donations were used to build and repair houses of gratitude for war invalids and fallen combatants families and houses of love for poor households, to grant scholarships for poor students, to open classes and give free vocational training to the poor as well as to provide free meals for poor patients.
Representatives of local authorities applauded the efforts of the Dong Nai province Committee for Solidarity Among Catholics and its followers who have been active in charity work over the past year.
