5,913 units of blood donated voluntarily in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- Lately, on the occasion of the National Humanitarian Blood Donation Day (April 7), the provincial Mobilization Committee to Donate Blood has held a ceremony to review last year’s blood donation activities in Dong Nai and honor individuals, organizations for their contributions to this humanitarian cause.

(ĐN)- Lately, on the occasion of the National Humanitarian Blood Donation Day (April 7), the provincial Mobilization Committee to Donate Blood has held a ceremony to review last year’s blood donation activities in Dong Nai and honor individuals, organizations for their contributions to this humanitarian cause. Present at the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh, Vice Secretary General of the Vietnam Red Cross Pham Van Trong and 230 other representatives.

 

In 2006, the Mobilization Committees at all levels in Dong Nai province in cooperation with local hospitals and Cho Ray Regional Blood Transfusion and Haematology Centre (HCM city) held many humanitarian blood donation campaigns, collected 13,546 units of blood. The donated blood is used to save lives in surgeries and treatment of a wide variety of diseases.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Secretary General highly appreciated the efforts made by Dong Nai province in the mobilization of humanitarian blood donation; concurrently, he also praised the responsibility and kind-heartedness of blood donors.
