New singing star shines in Dong Nai’s TV contest

(ĐN)- Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau from Thong Nhat district won Dong Nai Province Television’s annual singing contest, which ended on Wednesday, October 18 at the Province’s Square.

Professor Ca Le Thuan, Chairman of the jury board, and Mr Nguyen Thanh Tri, Director of Dong Nai provincial Department of Culture and Information, award the first prize to Ngoc Chau 

(ĐN)- Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau from Thong Nhat district won Dong Nai Province Television’s annual singing contest, which ended on Wednesday, October 18 at the Province’s Square.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau was the winner of the final round of 14 contestants. Chau sang Ly Ca Phe Ban Me (A Cup of Ban Me Coffee), a pop-rock song about the highland at the final night, scoring highest point and was awarded the top prize.

Tran Thi Thanh Kim from Long Khanh district took second place while Huynh Thanh Khiet and Nguyen Ngoc Que shared third place.

This is the first year to see some changes in the contest regulations which allow the participation of contestants who are of all ages over 18 from Dong Nai and neighboring provinces. Male and females ages over 18 years of age were invited to participate in the contest. This year’s oldest contestant was 72 years old.
