The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee striving to eliminate dilapidated houses

(ĐN)- Aiming to implement a national programme for hunger eradication and poverty reduction, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has set a target of replacing all dilapidated houses of the poor with new ones from now until 2008.

(ĐN)- Aiming to implement a national programme for hunger eradication and poverty reduction, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has set a target of replacing all dilapidated houses of the poor with new ones from now until 2008. Accordingly, the province will strive to reduce the number of poor households in the province to under 30 percent by 2008 and 4 percent by 2010.

 

As known, from 2001-2005 the Fatherland Front organizations at all levels has mobilized to build 8,177 charity houses with total construction cost of VND 48.4 billion. Until now, there have been 3 localities, 75 communes, wards and towns in Dong Nai that have completed their programmes to replace all dilapidated houses for poor families. Besides, the Fatherland Front together with the Front’s member organizations in the province have mobilized to lend capital to 186,000 poor households with total amount of nearly VND 36.5 billion. They have also awarded 120,343 scholarships to poor students and built 8 kindergartens in remote areas worth VND 16.8 billion.
