(ĐN) – The sixth Congress of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee was held in Dong Nai late last week. Present at the meeting were Le Minh Hien, standing member of the Presidium of the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Vo Van Mot, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the province’s People’s Committee.
(ĐN) – The sixth Congress of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee was held in Dong Nai late last week. Present at the meeting were Le Minh Hien, standing member of the Presidium of the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Vo Van Mot, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the province’s People’s Committee. The congress heard and discussed the report by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, sixth term, on the fronts activities in the first half of this year and its directions and tasks in the coming period.
The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee reported that more than VND 11 billion has been raised to assist single elderly persons, ill people and natural calamity victims in the first six months of the year. Besides, the Fund for the Poor received more than VND 1.5 billion in donations and about 893 poor households throughout the province have been assisted in building their houses.
The congress also adopted action programmes concerning poverty alleviation for period 2006-2010, the fight against wastefulness, losses and corruption etc.
Speaking at the congress, Hien praised the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee for its efforts in poverty reduction and encouraging active participation of local communities in many emulation movements and campaigns such as “People nationwide unite to build a cultural life in residential areas”…
