The province’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee holds charity performance entitled "Day for the poor"

Individuals and organizations pledging to donate cash to the poor

(ĐN) – To respond to the movement of “Day for the Poor” launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Dong Nai province’s Vietnam Fatherland Committee organized a charity performance at the meeting-hall of the province’s square yesterday evening of November 21 with a live program broadcast on ĐN2 channel. This activity aimed to raise fund for building houses for the poor as well as helping them escape poverty. The event received much attention from individuals and organizations that pledged to donate nearly VND 1.8 billion towards the poor until yesterday afternoon.

During the past 7 years, individuals and organizations inside and outside the province have contributed approximately VND 110 billion to the fund for the poor. The donations funded the construction of more than 8000 charity houses for the poor households. Besides, this amount also included donated seed stocks, medicine, rice, clothing and other goods in order to encourage the poor to strive hard for getting rid of poverty.
