Provincial aid programs for the poor

Dong Nai province accomplished the program "Bring light to poor blind people"

(ĐN) – During the past 9 month of this year, Dong Nai has built 1,413 charity houses worth over VND 9 billion and repaired 94 dilapidated houses for the poor so far with total expenditure of more than VND 634 million. Besides, the provincial townlets, cities and districts encouraged cash contributions from the general public in order to build more charity houses for the poorest of the poor.

In the other hand, the standing committees of Vietnam Father Front at all level across the province in coordination with other organizations has implemented many aid programs that benefit the poor. Especially, the program entitled “Bring light to poor blind people” and humanitarian blood donation movement as launched by the provincial government were considerable. To date, about 1298 poor blind people got free eye surgery in the whole province amounting to VND 860 million. In addition, Dong Nai also promoted and encouraged voluntary blood donation by the citizenry throughout the province with 3000 units of blood donation to help save lives of many patients. Moreover, the province provided over VND 9 billion so far in aid to the poor with the aim of improving the basic production and living conditions of the poor families.
