(ĐN)- The Provincial Department of Training and Education hold a meeting on October 8 at the Xuan Thien junior high school with the aim of evaluating the pilot project for introducing informatic technology (IT) into education at the district level. Thong Nhat district was chosen for implementing this pilot project.
At the meeting, Training and Education Department of Thong Nhat district presented the project on building and developing IT toward 2010. Accordingly, the district will hit its goals as follows: provide complete internet based education management system, apply IT in teaching and learning, 100% teachers can create electronic lesson plan. The project will be carried out during 3 years with an estimated expenditure of 166.5 million VND. About half of that amount came from the district’s budget and the rest from social funds. Presently, 12 out of 14 junior high schools of Thong Nhat district have been equipped with computers. About 3,300 sixth grade pupils will be learnt IT in the first phase of the project.
