Dong Nai, VNPT sign cooperation agreement on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation

The Dong Nai City People's Committee and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on June 17 signed a cooperation agreement on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation for the 2026-2030 period.

The signing ceremony was attended by Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee, along with leaders of city departments and agencies.

Representing VNPT were Ngo Dien Hy, Deputy General Director of the group, together with representatives of affiliated units and leaders of VNPT Dong Nai.

At the ceremony, Pham Van Trinh, Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DoST), presented an overview of Dong Nai City's development plans for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, as well as the cooperation framework between the City and VNPT for the 2026-2030 period.

Under the agreement, the two sides will work together to formulate long-term strategies, programs and master plans for digital transformation and smart city development. The partnership will also focus on building digital infrastructure and platforms that lay the groundwork for science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation. In addition, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in developing digital government, the digital economy and the digital society. They will also work together on research, technology application and innovation in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Dong Nai City's major development priorities aimed at creating breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Speaking at the event, VNPT Deputy General Director Ngo Dien Hy said the agreement is expected to open a new phase of development based on a long-term vision and broader cooperation. He said the partnership is expected to accelerate comprehensive digital transformation and help realize Dong Nai City's vision of becoming a modern, smart and sustainable industrial, urban and service hub.

VNPT pledged to accompany the city in developing digital infrastructure, promoting science and technology development and innovation, and implementing key digital transformation projects tailored to Dong Nai City's socio-economic characteristics.

Concluding the ceremony, Le Truong Son expressed appreciation for VNPT's continued support of the city, particularly in ensuring the smooth operation of the two-tier local government model since July 2025. Son highlighted VNPT's contributions to the operation of the city's Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) and its deployment of 250 technical personnel across 95 wards and communes to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and information flows.

He noted that VNPT had rapidly deployed administrative procedure processing, document management and data integration systems across more than 1,400 agencies and units, serving nearly 29,000 users citywide and ensuring seamless data connectivity.

City leaders said the agreement marks the beginning of a deeper and more robust partnership in digital transformation, with concrete tasks and solutions aimed at improving governance effectiveness and supporting socio-economic development across Dong Nai City.
