The congress elected a 16 member executive committee headed by Nguyen Van Thang for 2015-2020.
Presently, the association has around 190 members. It is set up in an attempt to boost ties between the Dong Nai province and the Thailand and will serve as a bridge for strengthening solidarity and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Thailand.
Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairwoman Bui Ngoc Thanh of the Dong Nai provincial Union of Friendship Organizations expressed her belief that the VLFA will successfully implement the action plan set for the 2015 - 2020 term, contributing to reinforcing and developing the traditional special relationship between two nations.
