Dong Nai CPC Secretary Vu Hong Van offers incense at martyrs' temples in Xuan Loc, Long Khanh

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), Vu Hong Van, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC), on August 31 offered incense at the Xuan Loc Martyrs' Temple in Xuan Loc ward and the Long Khanh Martyrs' Temple in Binh Loc ward. The tribute reflects the Vietnamese tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source”.

Also attending the tribute ceremony were Ho Van Nam, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Tran Bien ward; Vice Chairpersons of the Dong Nai City People's Committee Ho Van Ha and Nguyen Thi Cat Tien; and leaders of Xuan Loc and Binh Loc wards.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, Secretary of the CPC Vu Hong Van and leaders of the city and the two wards offered flowers and incense and observed a minute of silence in tribute to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who fought bravely and laid down their lives for national liberation and reunification.

Before the spirits of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs, city and local leaders pledged to uphold the revolutionary traditions forged by previous generations, maintain solidarity and discipline, and make every effort to accomplish the goals and tasks set for the city. They also pledged to effectively implement the strategic resolutions entrusted by the Politburo to the municipal Party Committee, authorities and people, and work with determination to build Dong Nai into a national growth hub, worthy of the noble sacrifices made by previous generations for the independence, freedom and reunification of the country.

The Xuan Loc and Long Khanh Martyrs' Temples are places where the names of heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the country's wars of resistance are commemorated. They also serve as important historical sites for educating today's and future generations about patriotism and the Vietnamese tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source”.

During the historic days of April 1975, Vietnamese troops and people in the Xuan Loc-Long Khanh area fought courageously, driven by a strong revolutionary spirit and the determination to liberate southern Vietnam and reunify the country. They broke through the enemy's final “steel” defensive line and advanced toward the liberation of Saigon on April 30, 1975.

The victory contributed to the Great Spring Victory of 1975, which completely liberated southern Vietnam and reunified the country. The Battle of Xuan Loc has gone down in Vietnam's revolutionary history as a heroic and glorious chapter.

During the visit, Secretary of the CPC Vu Hong Van also visited the family of Ho Van Giang, former Secretary of the Xuan Loc district Party Committee, and asked about their well-being.
