The 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2026–2031 term officially opened on the morning of June 24 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.

The congress was attended by nearly 800 official delegates, who are outstanding Youth Union officials and members representing over 21.6 million Vietnamese Youth Union members and youth at home and abroad. Among them, the Dong Nai’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has 21 delegates attending this congress.
With the action slogan: "Resilient spirit - Pioneer in innovation - Aspiration to contribute - Mastering the future", the 13th National Youth Union Congress is an important political event for the Youth Union organization, and a major festival for young people nationwide. The congress takes place over 2 days (June 24 and 25) with 4 working sessions.
At the opening session, delegates approved the congress agenda and regulations, heard a report on delegate eligibility, and reviewed summaries of key documents, including the Political Report and the review report of the 12th Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and its proposed amendments and supplements to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Charter. Delegates also presented discussion papers and recommendations.

The second working session took place on the afternoon of June 24, during which the congress proceeded to elect the 13th Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and held discussions in five forums with different themes. Forum 1 focused on discussing the theme of Vietnamese Youth being self-reliant, self-confident, self-sufficient, self-reliant, and proud of the nation. Forum 2 discussed the theme of Vietnamese Youth pioneering in science - technology development, innovation, and digital transformation. Forum 3 discussed the theme of Vietnamese Youth pioneering in starting businesses, establishing careers, and developing the national economy. Forum 4 discussed the theme of Vietnamese Youth being ready for international integration. Forum 5 discussed the theme of innovating the content and methods of the Youth Union's activities in the new situation.
The congress’s plenary session will take place on the morning of June 25 and will feature remarks from Party and State leaders, the announcement of the results of the first meeting of the 13th Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the introduction of the newly elected Central Committee, Standing Committee and Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2026–2031 term. The congress is scheduled to conclude on the afternoon of June 25.
