NA Standing Committee issues Resolution on establishing 10 new wards in Dong Nai

The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee has issued Resolution No. 237/NQ-UBTVQH16 on the establishment of 10 wards in Dong Nai province.

Accordingly, the resolution approves the formation of 10 wards based on maintaining the existing natural area and population size of the respective communes previously under Dong Nai.

Specifically, Trang Bom ward will be established with more than 68.7 sq.km and a population of over 95,500. It borders Phuoc Tan ward, Tam Phuoc ward, and the communes of An Vien, Bau Ham, Binh Minh, Hung Thinh and Tan An.

Meanwhile, Long Thanh ward will span over 130 sq.km with a population of nearly 96,000. It is adjacent to Nhon Trach ward and the communes of An Phuoc, Binh An, Long Phuoc, Phuoc An, Xuan Duong and Xuan Que.

Tri An ward, covering more than 660 sq.km, will have a population exceeding 51,700. It borders the communes of Bau Ham, La Nga, Phu Ly, Tan An, Tan Loi, Thanh Son and Thong Nhat, as well as Ho Chi Minh City.

Nhon Trach ward will have an area of over 108 sq.km and a population of nearly 157,000, bordering Long Thanh ward, the communes of An Phuoc, Dai Phuoc and Phuoc An, and Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, Tan Khai ward will cover nearly 162 sq.km with a population of more than 39,000. It borders Binh Long ward, Minh Hung ward, the communes of Minh Duc and Tan Quan, as well as Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province.

Xuan Loc ward will span over 140 sq.km and have a population of more than 101,000, bordering Bao Vinh ward, Long Khanh ward and the communes of Xuan Bac, Xuan Hoa, Xuan Phu and Xuan Thanh.

Tan Phu ward will cover more than 105 sq.km with a population exceeding 77,000, bordering the communes of Nam Cat Tien, Phu Hoa, Phu Lam, Phu Vinh and Ta Lai, along with Lam Dong Province.

Loc Ninh ward will have an area of over 67.5 sq.km and a population of more than 31,400, bordering the communes of Loc Hung, Loc Quang, Loc Tan and Loc Thanh.

Dau Giay ward will span nearly 99 sq.km and have a population of more than 70,200. It borders Binh Loc ward, Xuan Lap ward and the communes of Bau Ham, Binh An, Gia Kiem, Hung Thinh and Xuan Que.

Finally, Dong Phu ward will cover more than 138 sq.km with a population of over 39,000, bordering Binh Phuoc ward, Tan Loi commune and Ho Chi Minh City.

The resolution will take effect from April 30, 2026. Following the establishment of these 10 new wards, Dong Nai will have a total of 95 commune-level administrative units, including 33 wards and 62 communes.
