Dong Nai youth starts summer volunteer campaign

(ĐN)- A meeting to launch the summer voluntary campaign 2011 was held by the Dong Nai Youth Union on 5 June in Cam My district. Thousands of students and young people across the province attended the meeting.

Volunteers to the campaign, which will be spread throughout the province between June 1 and August 31, will participate in local economic development and poverty reduction projects, particularly in rural areas and localities facing difficulties.

They will also take part in social activities – helping poor people and disadvantaged children, disseminating laws to people, protecting the environment – and various culture, education and health care-related activities.

The campaign also aims to create a good environment for young people to study, strengthen solidarity and contribute more effectively to the community, thus increasing the quality of the Youth Union’s activities.

After the meeting, participants planted trees at Cam My district’s park, provided free medical check-ups and medicine to poor people in Xuan Dong commune.

On this occasion, the union and AIC Architecture and Construction Consultancy Co. presented 10 bicycles to poor students in Cam My district.
