(ĐN)- A wild elephant was found dead in the Vinh Cuu Natural Reserve in Dong Nai province, possibly due to eating pesticide-laden fruits.
Local people discovered the decomposed carcass on Sunday in Ma Da commune, Vinh Cuu District.
It could have died a few months ago, pesticide sprayed on the fruit might have poisoned the elephant, said Director of Vinh Cuu Natural Reserve Tran Van Mui.
The elephant, weighing an estimated 300-400 kilograms, was the eighth dead elephant found in the nature reserve in the past twelve months.
