Dong Nai marks world day for environment

(ĐN)- A meeting to celebrate the World Environment Day (June 5) was held in Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai on Friday. The event, organized by the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, attracted the participation of more than 1,000 students and local residents in Thong Nhat district.

Since 1972, the United Nation’s General Assembly has observed June 5 as World Environment Day, with the aim of raising global awareness of the importance of the environment and encouraging people to protect it.

In response to World Environment Day, Nike Vietnam and its subcontractors on Saturday offered around 1,000 seedlings worth over VND 150 million for Bien Hoa afforestation yards to cover nearly 3,000 hectares of forest.
