Dong Nai War Veterans’ Association reviews activities in first half

(ĐN)- On June 21, Dong Nai province War Veterans’ Association organized a meeting to review its activities in the first half and discuss tasks for the last six months of the year.

Over the first six months, the Association admitted 775 new members, bringing the number of its members to 27,826.

In this period, the association has made many efforts to help its members improve their lives and reduce the rate of poor war veteran families.

Particularly, the association raised nearly VND1.7 billion to provide preferential loans to its members to develop household economics, built and repaired 13 houses worth approximately VND230 million, supported seedlings and breeding animals for poor households. In addition, its members also contributed 2,000 working days to build and upgrade rural roads.

Over the remaining months of the year, the association will continue its efforts to assist poor members, contribute to fulfilling the province’s socio-economic tasks in 2011.
