(ĐN)- A solemn ceremony was held at To Dinh Long Thien pagoda in Buu Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province on May 17 (the fifteen day of the fourth lunar month) to celebrate the 2555th anniversary of Lord Buddha’s birthday.
At the ceremony, a representative of the provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Board read a message from the Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS). On this occasion, the provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Board also sent a message to Buddhist dignitaries, monks and nuns, and followers across the province. In its message, the provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Board called on the dignitaries and followers to promote the traditions and tenets of Buddhism, and to make more contributions to the national construction and development.
Chairwoman of the provincial Front Fatherland Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien delivered a congratulatory message of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and extended the greetings from the Provincial Party Committee to Buddhist dignitaries, monks and nuns and followers in the province on the occasion. She also said the Party and State always respect the right to follow any belief and religion based on the laws, and they always make favorable conditions for Buddhist followers to practice their religious freedom.
At the event, the participants attended rituals and incense offerings in honour of the Lord Buddha and released pigeons to pray for peace.
