GlobalGap standards will help the products easily penetrate demanding markets such as the U.S. and Europe.

In addition, 11 households under Tan Trieu Cooperative have also received the Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practice (VietGAP) certificate for their 3.1 hectares of pomelo orchard. VietGAP is based on the ASEAN GAP model but it is designed to meet the specific needs of the Vietnamese fresh fruit and vegetables industry.

The Cooperative has received financial assistance from the provinical budget to apply good agriculture practices under national and global standards for cultivating pomelo orchards since early 2010.

Pomelo grown under Global GAP standards and VietGAP standards can be sold at a higher price and easily meet the exacting requirements of European, US, and Japanese markets and ensure profits.
