Dong Nai is now home to 21 industrial parks, 19 of which had concentrated water waste treatment system. In the 2006-2010 period, the rate of solid waste collection reached more than 85 percent; rate of harmful waste treatment was 61 percent. In this period, 98 percent of urban population and 90 percent of rural households have been using clean water.
However, more efforts should be made in the next period to further speed up the progress of the construction of solid waste treatment projects.
In the period of 2011-2015, Dong Nai will continue efforts to upgrade its waste water treatment and drainage systems at urban areas, build concentrated water waste treatment system at all industrial parks. The province is also going to take measures to protect underground water sources.
