(ĐN)- 73 teams from universities and colleges in the southern region will gather at the Rach Mieu Sports House, Phu Nhuan district, HCM City on Tuesday to take part in the qualifying round of Robocon Vietnam 2011 contest. This year, there are 13 teams from Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University participating in the regional qualifying round. The teams will be divided into 19 groups to compete in a round-robin format and they will compete in two rounds of the competition with only the top 12 teams advancing to the national final competition in Da Nang from May 9-15. From there, the national champion will represent Vietnam in the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2011 to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in August.

Robocon team LH-LED from Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University became the champion of Robocon Vietnam 2010 for the first time and they took second place in the 2010 Asia-Pacific Robocon contest, held in Cairo, Egypt.
