(ĐN)- Cam My district’s Study Encouragement Association on March 31 held its third congress for the 2011-2015 term. The congress was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Vuu, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai province’s Study Promotion Association.

The association has so far established 230 branches with more than 5,400 members. In the past term, the association and its branches raised VND4.9 billion to help poor teachers and students across the district.
Particularly, the association provided annual awards totaling VND1.62 billion to 5,234 teachers and 23,488 students for their achievements in teaching and studying, granted 4,477 scholarships worth more than VND1.4 billion to poor outstanding students, presented bicycles and notebooks to students with difficult circumstances.

The congress elected a new executive board with 39 members. Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Vice Chairman of the district People’s Committee, was re-elected as Chairman of the Association for 2011-2015 term.
