Over the past years, the health sector has surmounted many difficulties, helping increase peoples access to medical services. The sector also carried out many measures to improve medical examinations and treatment quality, strengthen human resources, and improve the standards of diagnosis and treatment. At present, 98.83 per cent of communes and wards across the province have health clinics that meet national standards while 85 per cent of communes have doctors.
Vice Chairwoman Huynh Thi Nga presents certificates of merit to collectives and individuals for their excellent performance.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Huynh Thi Nga highly appreciated achievements made by Dong Nai medical sector in the past years and urged the health sector to focus on creating an equal, effective and developmental health care foundation for the sake of the people, especially children, the poor, beneficiaries of social welfare and those living in remote areas, training more doctors who met international standards. She also asked medical officials and workers across the province to put a good deal of effort into providing good healthcare services to patients following President Ho’s teaching “a good doctor is like an affectionate mother”.
On this occasion, Dong Nai General Hospital and the province’s Centre for Protection of Labours Health and Working Environment were awarded excellent emulation flags of Ministry of Health, 9 units received certificates of merit of Vietnam National Union of Health Workers, and 275 individuals got memorial medals “For the People’s Health”.
