(ĐN)- There was a drastic increase in the number of visitors to Dong Nai’s tourism areas in the three-day New Year holiday. Particularly, Giang Dien Waterfall situated in Trang Bom district attracted the highest number of visitors, which totaled approximately 13,000, an increase of nearly 20 percent over the same period last year.

Particularly, Giang Dien Waterfall situated in Trang Bom district attracted the highest number of visitors, which totaled approximately 13,000, an increase of nearly 20 percent over the same period last year. It was followed by Buu Long tourist area with almost 4,000 tourists, up 20 per cent over the same period last year. In addition, Vuon Xoai eco-tourist area, Nam Cat Tien National Park, Ba Xe tourist area… were some of the most popular of the tourist destinations in the province during the holiday period.
During the new year holiday, supermarkets in the province witnessed a sharp increase in number of shoppers. Especially, big supermarkets in Dong Nai such as Big C, Co.opMart, Cho Lon Electronics Supermarket… have seen shopper numbers rise by 30-40 per cent compared with regular days. A large number of supermarkets in the province have cut down prices of many products on the occasion of the New year 2011 to lure shoppers. Accordingly, most products in big supermarkets have been discounted by up to 50 per cent.
