(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee has recently held a meeting to adopt the province’s socio-economic development plan for 2011. Accordingly, Dong Nai will continue to maintain a high and sustainable socio-economic growth rate in 2011.
The meeting was attended by Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot and Huynh Chi Thang, Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Font Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien.
In the socio-economic development plan for 2011, the province’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate is set at 13-13.5%, the industrial production value is expected to increase 17-18%, export turnover up 15-17%, the total investment for development will be VND36-37.7 trillion or equivalent to 39.4-41.2% of GDP, the foreign direct investment is US$1.5-1.7 billion.
Social goals will include generating jobs for 90,000 people, reducing the natural population growth rate to 1.1% and the number of poor households by 8 percent in line with new poverty standards.
The province plans to increase the number of industrial zones having standard waste water treatment systems to 100 percent.
Since 2011 is the first year of the 2011-2015 socio-economic development plan, the province’s leaders has asked the departments, agencies and localities to concentrate on taking measures to restructure the economy to ensure high and sustainable economic growth, enhancing the training of high-quality human resources, promptly implementing policies to ensure social welfare and security.
