(ĐN)- Dong Nai branch of the Military Telecom Corporation (Viettel) recently held a conference to review two years of connecting all schools to the internet and show the gratitude to its customers. Viettel has exceeded its target of providing free internet service for all schools in the province from 2008 to 2009, reaching this target 5 months early. The program was launched in Dong Nai in November 2008 by Dong Nai branch of the Military Telecom Corporation with its partner, Dong Nai Department of Education and Training. So far, 495 schools in the province have been connected to the internet. Accordingly, more than 540,000 people including teachers and students have internet access, contributing to promote IT application in education.
On this occasion, six collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit of the Provincial People’s Committee for their contributions to the promotion of the use of IT in schools in Dong Nai.
