Vietnam’s first fruit festival opened

(ĐN)- The first Vietnam Fruit Festival officially opened today, April 19, in Tien Giang province’s My Tho city.

Around 20 different types of fruit from 20 provinces across the country are on display at the week-long festival aimed to promote the country’s potential. Lychees from Bac Giang, dragon fruit from Binh Thuan, seedless guava of the Mekong Delta, Hoa Loc mango, green pomelo, and durian among others are available at the festival, which features 816 booths of tropical fruit.

The festival also promote the country’s cultural values as there will be singing contests featuring Vietnam’s traditional arts, a photo exhibition, and seminars on the country’s fruit with the participation of Thailand, Taiwan and China as major fruit growers in the world.

The festival is a good chance for Vietnam to promote its tropical fruit brands to the outside world. Visitors to the festival will also admire a dragon made from 50 different types of fruit.
