The Pagoda was built in 1684 by the Chinese Community. It is a place for monks, Buddhists and people from Bien Hoa city and its neighboring areas to contemplate and worship the Buddha, recall their ancestors, and pray for safety and prosperity for the country and people. At first, it was named Quan De Pagoda, and later renamed That Phu Co Temple (or Ong Pagoda). This site is protected for its historical and cultural value at the national level.

Aiming to preserve cultural heritage, Buddhist managing committee mobilized donations from organizations, individuals and Buddhist followers from inside and outside the province to restore the pagoda. The restoration cost was over VND 9 billion.
