In 2009, Dong Nai AO/Dioxin Victims’ Association and its grassroots units mobilized more than VND2.6 billion from organizations and individuals to care AO victims, according to the report.
Particularly, the association has given regular assistance to victims, presented gifts totaling approximately VND1 billion to 3,257 AO victims, repaired and built 20 charity houses with a total cost of more than VND470 million for disadvantaged AO victims, provide free medical treatment to poor people and AO/dioxin-exposed people.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vo Van Mot praised efforts made by the Association in the past time and hoped that the Association will continue to cooperate tightly with its grassroots units to raise more fund for AO victims.
On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 9 individuals for their efforts to help AO victims.
