(ĐN)- Long Khanh town’s Fatherland Front Committee has just held a meeting to review last year’s activities and discuss plans for this year.
In 2009, the committee cooperated with related agencies and organizations to visit and present gifts totaling over VND2.4 billion to more than 8,100 social policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors, poor households, minority ethnic people.
The committee raised more than VND2.2 billion to “Fund for the Poor” and nearly VND834 million to build 62 charitable houses. Besides, local people contributed over VND240 million and 897 working days to upgrade and build 7.3 km of rural roads, dredged 44.5 km of canals.
In 2010, the committee and units will continue to enhance the propaganda and dissemination to encourage local people to participate in patriotic emulation movements, mobilize the strength of the great national unity.
