(ĐN)- There was a drastic increase in the number of visitors to Dong Nai’s tourism areas in the three-day New Year holiday. Particularly, Giang Dien Waterfall situated in Trang Bom district attracted the highest number of visitors, which totaled over 18,000, a twofold increase over the same period last year. It was followed by Bo Cap Vang (Golden Scorpion) ecological tourist area with nearly 6,000 tourists, up 15 per cent over the same period last year and Buu Long tourist area of about 5,000 tourists. Most of tourists came from Ho Chi Minh and Bien Hoa cities.

During the new year holiday, supermarkets in the province witnessed an increase of 50 per cent in number of shoppers compared to regular days. Especially, some of those recorded as much as a 100-200 per cent increase. During the holiday period, the province’s major markets like Bien Hoa and Tan Hiep markets also saw a double or triple increase in number of buyers compared with regular days. Prices of daily necessities remained stable or increased slightly over the three-day period.
