(ĐN)- Nhon Trach district on Dec. 23. organized a conference to review its mass mobilization work in 2009.
According to the report, the district raised more than VND2.87 billion this year to build 92 houses of charity and repair 14 others; provide free medical check-ups and treatment to the poor; award scholarships, bicycles and Tet gifts to students with difficult circumstances. Accordingly, the rate of poor households in the district has been reduced to 5.74%.
In the past time, the district’s armed forces and organizations has sent delegations, including soldiers and youth members, to down to the grassroots level to help local people. Particularly, they mobilized over VND2.177 billion and contributed 4,421 working days to repair and build rural roads, present gifts to policy families.
At the conference, the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 22 collectives and 19 individuals for their contributions to the district’s mass mobilisation work. On this occasion, 28 mass mobilization cadres received campaign medals of Central Party Committees Commission for Mass Mobilisation.
