Lac Hong university begins new school year

(ĐN)- In the morning of Nov 16, Lac Hong university held a ceremony to welcome the new school year of 2009-2010.

In the new school year, the university enrolled more than 3,000 new students, bringing its number of students to over 16,000 in 24 training faculties. Mr. Tran Hanh, the principal of the university,  said that the school would continue to strengthen educational links with other universities nationwide and worldwide, focus on raising the training quality, pay more attention to scientific research, etc.

At the ceremony, Lac Hong university granted graduation certificates to 1,341 students, with 31 of them achieving excellent results. The university was awarded the emulation flag of Prime Minister, flag for excellent unit by Ministry of Education and Training. Besides, Lac Hong’s 13 collectives and 27 individuals received certificates of merit of the provincial People’s Committee.

On this occasion, the university raised and donated more than VND850 mil to Study Promotion Fund to help studious poor students; accordingly, it granted annual scholarships worth 24.5 million each to six university students.
