(ĐN)- During the past nine months of 2009, Dong Nai provincial Red Cross Association has received donations worth VND35 billion from individuals and organizations to assist the poor.
Particularly, the association cooperated with hospitals to provide free eye surgeries for 4,000 poor patients, offer free medical check-ups and medicine to 135,000 people, and to make other charitable activities.
In this period, the association held many humanitarian blood donation campaigns and collected 135,000 units of blood. Dong Nai is recognised as one of the leading province in humanitarian blood donation movement in the past time.
