
(ĐN)- On February 18, Department of Finance held a ceremony to review its activities in 2008 and set tasks for 2009. The ceremony was attended by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot and leaders of related departments, agencies.

According to Department of Finance, Dong Nai’s total budget collection in 2008 was estimated at nearly VND13 trillion, a 18 percent increase over the estimates and a year-on-year rise of 23 percent. Of the total, import-export tax collection gained around VND5 trillion, domestic collection was approximately VND8 trillion. Meanwhile, the State budget expenditures was estimated to reach more than VND4 trillion or 87 percent of the year’s plan. However, the department said, there remains shortcomings in budget collection and expenses.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Vo Van Mot stressed that the department need to overcome shortcomings, effectively use and manage the investing capital from the State Budget.
