(ĐN)- On January 9, Dong Nai province’s Labor Federation held a meeting to review its activities in 2008 and set tasks for 2009. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot and Head of the Mass Mobilization Department Bui Ngoc Thanh.
In 2008, 146 grassroots labor unions were established with 49,887 members, bring total number of labor union members in the province to 355,936. In the last year, the federation organized various sports, cultural activities and launched many social-charitable activities. Accordingly, the federation mobilized to build 84 charity houses and provide loans worth more than VND5 billion to its members.
In 2009, the federation will continue build strong unions at the grass-roots level, develop youth members, provide supports to poor workers, mobilize laborers to participate in unemployment insurance, etc.
