(ĐN) – The third session was held in Dong Nai on December 11 by Dong Nai Farmers’ Association to review its performance in 2008 and work out directions for its operations in 2009.

The Association added over 11,000 new members in 2008, bringing the total number of members to over 200,000. 98 out of the total membership are Party members.
During the year of 2008, the patriotic emulation movement in production launched by the Association has attracted the participation of more than 134,000 farming households, out of whom, over 101,000 households have been recognized as "Outstanding farmer household in production and business". In addition, the Association has encouraged its member to contribute nearly VND 1 billion to the fund for helping poor farmers.
In 2009, the Association will focus on training and improving the qualifications of grassroots executives. In addition, it has set that 50 per cent of the total farmer households in the province will be recognized as "Outstanding farmer household in production and business" in 2009.
