(ĐN)- A supervision delegation of the provincial People’s Council recently held a working session with representatives of relevant agencies to discuss the implementation of Decree 63/2006 issued by the provincial People’s Council on the State’s bus subsidy program.

According to the provincial Department of Transport, there have been so far 18 unsubsidised routes and 6 subsidised routes operating in Dong Nai. Local bus operators find it diffculties to keep bus fares unchanged while the cost of fuel is increasing and fuel compensation comes too late.

The Department released that the province plans to cut bus subsidy between now and 2010 and bus companies will be encouraged to remove buses from existing subsidised routes in order to put them on to new usubsidised routes in order to reduce the burden on the budget.
