A new school year started in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- More than 550,000 students throughout the province entered the new school year on September 5. The provincial leaders attended the new school year opening ceremony held in schools with their teaching staff and students.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot and Director of Department of Education and Training Le Minh Hoang joined the teaching staff and students of Ngo Quyen high school in Bien Hoa city to open the new school-year on Sept. 5. The school has been identified as a leading high school in Dong Nai with its outstanding achievements in teaching and studying during the past years. In the 2007-2008 school year, the school’s students bagged many prizes at national and provincial contests. 

The same day, Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the provincial Party Committee attended the inaugural ceremony of the 2008-09 school year at the Ethnic Minority Students Boarding School in the province. Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Bui Ngoc Thanh said that the provincial government always create favorable conditions for minority ethnic students to study. She also expressed her desire that the students would unite together to achieve good results in study, meet the expectations of society, family and teachers. This is the 16th year that the school has provided vocational training for minority ethnic students aiming to create human resources for meeting the requirements of socio-economic development of the province. 

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Huynh Chi Thang attended the opening ceremony of the new school year at Thong Nhat A high school in Trang Bom district. At the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Chi Thang delivered the message from the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province to teachers and students of the school. The total number of students in the school in the 2008-2009 school year is close to 2,000, of whom, 700 are the students of 10th grade. 

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai also joined the teaching staff and 2,084 students of Tran Bien Senior High School in the opening ceremony of the new school-year. In the 2008-2009 school year, the school welcomes 682 students for the 10th grade. For this occasion, the students in the school contributed 10,000 notebooks. These will be donated to pupils in remote areas in Dong Nai province via Dong Nai Newspaper.
