(ĐN)- The 8th Congress of the Dong Nai province Labour Union was opened at the meeting hall of the province’s Culture and Sports Complex centre in August 1. Present at the congress were Dang Ngoc Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Tran Dinh Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Nai province, Vo Van Mot, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Kiem Lien, Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and 397 delegates representing over 420,000 trade union members across the province.

Speaking at the congress, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Dang Ngoc Tung highlighted the need to focus on protecting the legal rights of laborers, encouraging laborers to get actively involved in the the fight against corruption, waste and other negative phenomena and developing new members …
At the meeting, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh commended the Provincial Labour Union for its efforts in protecting the legal rights of laborers as well as in uniting workers in the province to achieve common goals of the province’s economic development.
The congress adopted the tasks and orientations for 2008-2013 tenure. The Congress elected a new Central Committee with 41 members. Huynh Tan Kiet was re-elected Chairman of Dong Nai Province’s Labour Union. Le Thi My Le and Huynh Van Tinh were re-elected as Vice-Chairpersons.
