Deputy Secretary Le Hong Phuong works with health sector on training medical staff

(ĐN)- In the morning of July 16, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong had a working session with the province’s health sector on training medical staff for preventive healthcare, examinations, treatments, and nutrition.

(ĐN)- In the morning of July 16, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong had a working session with the province’s health sector on training medical staff for preventive healthcare, examinations, treatments, and nutrition. Also attending the working session were Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee and related departments and agencies.     

According to report from Department of Health, Dong Nai presently has 5,124 medical staffs including 854 doctors and 50 pharmacists, lacking of about 900 doctors and nearly 3,000 health workers. Meanwhile, Dong Nai Public Health College trained hundred of students annually and more than 50 percent of them have been employed to work at medical clinics inside and outside the province.    

 

Speaking at the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary Le Hong Phuong said that Dong Nai currently has a large need for well-trained medical staff to meet the increasing health care demand of local people. Therefore, the province’s health sector in general and Dong Nai Public Health College in particularly need to strengthen cooperation in training medical staff and it’s important to retain and attract skilled medical staff in the coming time.
