The provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive committee had held a press meeting on the previous day to announce the details of the eventual celebrations. The celebrations, marking Buddha’s birthday and his Enlightenment and entry into Nirvana, will take place in Dong Nai from May 12-19. A number of activities will be organised during the celebration week including a parade of carriages decorated with flowers, floating flower garlands and coloured lanterns, etc. Besides, monks, nuns and followers will organise visits to present gifts to policy families and poor people in the province.
A solemn ceremony to celebrate the Lord Buddhas birthday will be held on May 15 at the province’s culture and sports complex centre.
