(ĐN)- Recently, at the province’s Sporting Hall, Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a solemn ceremony to mark the 32nd anniversary of Liberation of Southern Viet Nam and National Reunification (April 30), the May Day and to receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal.
Attending the ceremony were State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of HCM city’s People’s Committee and former Secretary of Dong Nai province’s Party Committee Le Hoang Quan, former Deputy Minister of Defence, lieutenant-general Nguyen Thoi Bung, former Deputy Secretary of Eastern Regional Party Committee Nguyen Van Chi, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot, the former leaders of Dong Nai province, the heroic mothers, the heroes of the people’s armed forces, and the representatives from branches, agencies, localities and people in the province. At the ceremony, Chairman Vo Van Mot made a speech to review the glorious history of nation and brief on the achievements made by the Party and people of Dong Nai province over the past years. Accordingly, Dong Nai has continuously strived to achieve important achievements in socio-economic development in the last 20 years of renovation process. It has made all efforts to overcome difficulties and consistently maintain a high GDP growth rate. Besides, Dong Nai is also a leading province in FDI attraction and industrial park development. The peoples life has been improved substantially. However, he added, more efforts needed to be made by Dong Nai to maintain high growth rate in 2007.
On this occasion, Dong Nai province was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal for its achievements during the past 20 years. At the ceremony, State President Nguyen Minh Triet praised the Party and people of Dong Nai province for their contributions to the local socio-economic development. The president said that the local authorities should pay more attention to poverty reduction and improvement of living conditions for policy beneficieries, revolutionary families and ethnic minority groups. He stressed the province should develop a contingent of talented officials in order to fulfill the targets of the industrialization and modernization process. Reported by N.P
