Review conference on implementation of Directive 06-CT/TW held in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- A conference to review 4 years’ implementation of Directive 06-CT/TW on consolidating and strengthening basic health care network of the Central Party Secretariat was recently held in Dong Nai by the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee. Mrs. Huynh Thi Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired the conference.

(ĐN)- A conference to review 4 years’ implementation of Directive 06-CT/TW on consolidating and strengthening basic health care network of the Central Party Secretariat was recently held in Dong Nai by the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee. Mrs. Huynh Thi Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired the conference.

The summary review report on four years’ implementation of the Central Executive Committees Directive 06-CT/TW, Director of the Provincial Health Department Tu Thanh Chuong said that that there have been a number of positive changes in the Dong Nai province’s health care sector in the past four years implementing Directive 06-CT/TW mentioned. At the present, all communal health stations are upgraded, thus improving the health care quality for the local people. The report showed that by the end of 2006, 102 communal-level health stations have been recognized as having met national standards, out of which, 86 stations have medical doctors.

The report also pointed out a few shortcomings and limitations. For example, there are some medical stations in the province that still have inadequate of health facilities so that not satisfy medical examination and treatment demands of local residents.

Also at the conference, Director Tu Thanh Chuong presented a plan to upgrade the health network during 2007-2010. According to the plan, in the next four years, from 33 to 35 regional general clinics will be built in the province while more than VND 75 billion will be invested in new medical equipment so that residents can get better checks-up and treatment.  By the year 2010, to strive to achieve: 100% of communal health stations will be constructed solidly and have medical doctors.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairwoman Nga stressed the need for the province’s health care sector to overcome limitations and weaknesses to promote the development of basic health care network in the province as well as accelerate the socialization of health activities in the coming years.
