Unitek, an Australian poultry processor, has just put a modern poultry slaughterhouse into operation at the Loteco Industrial Zone in the southern province Dong Nai.
Covering 2.3ha, the plant houses a 4,000sq.m workshop with an advanced French production line, a European-standard processing area and a refrigerated building.
The US$6 million factory is designed to process 6,000 chickens per hour. The facility will help satisfy growing demand for pure poultry products not only from domestic consumers but also from importers from a number of Asian neighbors in which bird flu cases are still being reported.
