(ĐN) – This statement was made by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council of Dong Nai province Tran Dinh Thanh at a meeting with the new consul general of Korea Min Young-woo on May 8.

After hearing positive changes about socio-economic development of Dong Nai province from the provincial leaders, Min said that Republic of Korea is now ranked fourth among foreign investors in Viet Nam but his country expects to expand investment in Vietnam in order to become  Vietnam’s largest foreign investor in upcoming years. He also added that though there were many strikes involving workers in foreign-invested companies over the past time, Korean investors still want to put their capital and confidence in Vietnam. Min took this opportunity to thank the provincial leaders for their support to Korean businesses operating in Dong Nai. He promised that he would combine with local government to settle problems and difficulties facing Korean businesses.

Addressing at the meeting, Thanh hoped that Min can act as bridge between Korean businesses and the provincial government of Dong Nai and help deepen mutual understanding between the Korean and Vietnamese people so as to further develop Kyongnam- Dong Nai relations. After discussion, the schedule for the visit of the provincial leaders of Kyongnam to Dong Nai province was decided and set in June.
