(ĐN)- To establish and invest in regions that can supply materials and buy agricultural products, Bien Hoa Sugar Joint Stock Company is going to invest VND60 billion to develop
sugarcane raw material area of 9,000 hectares in Tay Ninh province. From the beginning of 2005 to March 2006, the company has purchased about 370,000 tons of sugarcane and produced 34,000 tons of raw sugar ( equal to 32,000 tons of refined sugar). Now, the company needs over 740,000 tons of sugarcane, more than double the current quantity of sugarcane to produce 70,000 tons of refined sugar.
From the beginning of this year to now, the company has imported and bought from domestic producers 15,000 tons of raw sugar (except for raw sugar that produced by the company).
