Three e-commerce portals under development

The Ministry of Trade’s Trade Information Centre is implementing a project to develop three e-commerce portals in Hanoi, Bien Hoa and Da Nang

The Ministry of Trade’s Trade Information Centre is implementing a project to develop three e-commerce portals in Hanoi, Bien Hoa and Da Nang.

According to Pham Ngoc Thuy, deputy director of the project management board, the portals will be equipped with modern technology and connected to foreign e-commerce floors. To join these e-commercial floors, businesses only require computers and modems. The project will also assist businesses in technology and training of human resources for e-commerce.

Besides presenting products and promoting sales, participants can use available tools on the portals to analyse the habits and demands of customer groups through their transactions and comments. Thus providing a foundation for designing promotional and advertising programmes and long-term business plans.

In addition, e-commerce portals and trade promotion centres in all provinces and cities will eventually be networked to establish a nationwide e-commerce system The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in 2006.
