Sanyo launches new digital camera manufacturing plant in Dong Nai

Sanyo’s digital cameral factory in the Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park

(ĐN) – In the morning of September 13, Sanyo Home Appliance Vietnam Corporation (Sanyo Vietnam) launched a US$13 million digital camera plant in the Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park in Dong Nai province. The launch ceremony was attended by VIPs such as Vice Minister of Industry Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dang Thi Kim Nguyen.

The factory has an annual production capacity of one million units in the first two years and 5 million cameras in 2007. Its products are specially exported to EU and Asian markets. The factory employs about 600 workers. It is the first digital camera manufacturing plant to be built in Vietnam.

Sanyo Group’s message sends to the world of Sanyo’s commitment for all and the active communities development. The factory in Vietnam will be the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of digital cameras at competitive price, said Chairman and CEO of Sanyo Tomoyo Nonaka.

On this occasion, Sanyo donated VND 300 million to the HCM Sponsor Association for Poor Patients and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front in order to help unlucky people, poor patients have opportunities to cure and get medical care.
